How it works
How to search comments on YouTube
YouTube doesn't have a search box for comments. Load them here instead, then search, filter, and export.
- 01
Paste a video or channel link
Paste a YouTube video or Shorts link, or a channel link such as youtube.com/@handle to search its latest videos at once. Press Load comments.
- 02
Search by keyword or username
Type a keyword, or put a phrase in quotes for an exact match. Enter a username to find everything that person said in the loaded comments.
- 03
Filter and sort
Narrow the results by date range or minimum likes, hide replies, and sort by newest, oldest, most liked, or best match.
- 04
Open or export
Jump to any comment on YouTube, or export the matching comments to CSV with author, text, likes, date, and link.
What people use it for
Find the comment you're looking for
Read every comment in one list
Use it as a comment viewer: load a video and scroll all its comments, sorted by newest, oldest, or most liked, without YouTube's endless scroll.
Find your own comment
Load the video, enter your channel name in Username, and jump straight to what you wrote.
Find a question to answer
Search for “how”, “why”, or a product name to surface the questions viewers asked.
Check what someone said
Filter by username to see every loaded comment from one person on a video or a channel.
Research a channel
Scan a channel's latest videos for a keyword to see where a topic keeps coming up.
Good to know
What the comment finder searches
Only loaded comments are searched
The finder loads up to 2,000 comments per video, newest first. Older comments on very busy videos may fall outside that sample.
Up to 5 replies per thread
Each comment thread includes up to 5 of its replies. Long reply chains aren't loaded in full.
Not a person's full history
Username search covers the loaded comments only. It can't show everything a person has posted across YouTube.
Public comments only
Deleted comments, comments held for review, and videos with comments turned off can't be searched.
FAQ
YouTube comment finder questions
Want the themes and questions instead of individual comments? Try the YouTube comment analyzer. Picking a giveaway winner? Use the comment picker.
Is this a YouTube comment viewer?
Yes. Paste a video link and press Load comments to view up to 2,000 comments in one list, sorted by newest, oldest, or most liked. Leave the search box empty to see them all, or type a keyword to narrow them down.
How do I view all comments on a YouTube video?
YouTube loads comments a few at a time as you scroll. Paste the video's link into this viewer instead to load up to 2,000 comments at once, with replies, likes, and dates, then sort or export them.
Can I view YouTube comments without an account?
Yes. The comment viewer works on any public video with comments turned on, with no YouTube sign-in and no BeyondComments account.
How do I search comments on a YouTube video?
Paste the video's link into the comment finder and press Load comments. Type a keyword, or a phrase in quotes, to see matching comments with the matches highlighted. Filter by username, date, or likes to narrow the results.
How do I find my own comments on YouTube?
To see every public comment you've posted, sign in and open youtube.com/feed/history/comment_history. To find your comment on one specific video, load that video in this finder and enter your username.
Can I find YouTube comments by username?
Yes. Load a video or a channel's recent videos, then enter a name in the Username field. It matches author names in the loaded comments. It isn't a search of a person's complete YouTube activity.
Does this show my YouTube comment history?
No. The finder searches public comments on the video or channel you choose. Your personal comment history is on YouTube at youtube.com/feed/history/comment_history.
Can I search comments across a whole channel?
Yes. Paste a channel link and choose 3, 5, or 10 recent videos. The finder loads up to 300 comments from each and shows which video every result came from. Older videos aren't searched.
How many comments can it search?
Up to 2,000 comments on a single video, newest first, or up to 300 per video in channel mode. Each thread includes up to 5 replies. Results only cover the comments that were loaded.
Can I export YouTube comments to CSV?
Yes. Export CSV downloads the comments that match your current filters, with the author, text, likes, date, video title, and a link to each comment.
Why is a comment missing from the results?
It may be older than the loaded sample, part of a long reply chain, deleted, held for review, or on a video with comments turned off. A missing result doesn't prove the comment was never posted.
Does it work with YouTube Shorts?
Yes. Paste a Shorts link and the finder loads its comments the same way as a regular video.
Is the YouTube comment finder free?
Yes. Loading, searching, filtering, and exporting comments are free, with no sign-up.
Want a summary of what viewers are saying?
The YouTube comment analyzer groups feedback into a summary, topics, and sentiment. Sign in to try up to 50 comments free. No credit card required.
